Here's a classic Tres Leches Cake recipe for you:

Ingredients:

For the Cake:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 5 large eggs, separated
  • 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
  • 1/3 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Milk Mixture::

  • 1 can (12 ounces) evaporated milk
  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/4 cup whole milk

For the Topping:

  • 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Ground cinnamon (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

For the Cake:

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Separate Eggs: In a large bowl, beat the egg yolks with 3/4 cup of the sugar until the mixture is pale yellow. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract.
  • Combine: Gently fold in the flour mixture into the egg yolk mixture until just combined.
  • Egg Whites: In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites on high speed until soft peaks form. Gradually add the remaining 1/4 cup sugar, beating until stiff peaks form.
  • Fold: Gently fold the egg whites into the batter until just combined. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish.
  • Bake: Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool completely.

For the Milk Mixture:

  • Combine: In a medium bowl, whisk together the evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, and whole milk.
  • Soak Cake: Once the cake has cooled, poke holes all over the surface using a fork. Slowly pour the milk mixture over the cake, making sure to cover the entire surface. Let the cake absorb the milk mixture for at least 30 minutes.

For the Topping:

  • Whip Cream: In a large bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  • Top Cake: Spread the whipped cream evenly over the cake.
  • Garnish: Sprinkle with ground cinnamon, if desired.

Serve:

Refrigerate the cake for at least an hour before serving to let it set. Enjoy your Tres Leches Cake!

Feel free to adjust the sweetness and flavors to your liking. Enjoy baking!
